Clear the path and clear your head. This is the rock that sears the ears and melts the face off. But such is the way for psyched-up trio Leopold and His Fiction. You go with the ferocity, and there’s no looking back.

The band, lead by vocalist Daniel James (who also contributes his talents to local band Cowboy and Indian), has something genuinely on fire – make that, the fire in the soul, specifically. You get the sort of vibe you experience with heavy-duty vintage rock ‘n’ roll and blues that explodes and transcends, even mutilates at times. However, one of the best things about Leopold and His Fiction is their deep appreciation of the contrasts and subtleties between what you hear in a studio recording, and what you bring as a band to a live show. Both can be equally as stunning and impressive, and that’s the case with this band.

Don’t miss Leopold and His Fiction when they play tonight at Stubb’s indoor venue, 801 Red River. This is an all-around fantastic bill that includes local bands Calliope Musicals and Hello Caller. Doors open at 9 p.m. Excellent. Recommended.
