Texas Governor Rick Perry is taking steep drops in the latest opinion polls taken in key early primary states. The Perry campaign has indicated that the governor may not participate in some upcoming GOP presidential debates.

“There is a potential glut of debates ahead after one on November 9th in Michigan, which they have committed to. After that, we’re not so sure,” Jay Root of KUT’s political reporting partner the Texas Tribune said.

It’s no secret that debates aren’t Perry’s strong suit so we likely will see him doing more direct contact with voters.

Perry does still have a lot of money, and he’s running ads in Iowa. But Root says giving up on forums could come at a cost to Perry since he’s no longer a frontrunner in this presidential race.
