Girl in the Coma is more of a force of nature than a rock band. Nina Diaz’s voice alone sounds like it could power a city. In fact, our very own David Brown has proclaimed that she is one of the best female vocalists in rock n’ roll. Add in Phanie Diaz’s drums and Jen Alva’s bass and the result is nothing short of nuclear. But all that power might have been lost in their San Antonio bedroom had it not been for Joan Jett who discovered a Girl in a Coma while judging a cable TV show featuring undiscovered bands. The girls are now on their 4th full length album, Exits and all the Rest, on Jett’s Blackheart Record Label and they will be in Studio 1a at 9pm on October the 28th.
