It’s the Friday podcast, featuring all your favorites, I assume. Look, honestly, I don’t know what your favorite stuff is. And I’m really in no position to guess. So let’s just both go ahead and make like the stuff on this podcast is your favorite, okay? We’ll both be happier for it, we’ll save some time, and we can all get out of here and get our respective weekends started.
First off, it’s a little something something from our friends at Texas Folklife and their Stories from Deep in the Heart program. In this piece you’ll learn a thing or two about the quinceanera tradition. Then we’ll keep the Folklife theme going with the latest installment of our semi-regular series Portrait of an Artist, which just happens to feature journalist Elizabeth Peres Luna, who was a guest instructor for the Deep in the Heart program this past summer. And to wrap up the Folklife trilogy, it’s one more piece from Deep in the Heart: the youth-produced Thanksgiving.
What else do you love? How about doing things for yourself? Everyone’s into the DIY movement nowadays, especially the fine folks at Destination DIY. We love this show and its catchy jingle, and we’re sure you’re going to get into this episode, which is called Representing Yourself.
