Austin musician Dale Watson has been known for his whole career as a hot-headed, renegade of country music. That is, until he nearly dropped that pretense for his newest album. His new work is definitely more polished and refined, less angry, and more traditional country. The album marks a departure, but not a complete abandonment of the things that make Dale Watson who he is as a musician. On Wednesday, Watson will do an in-store performance at Waterloo Records, and on Friday he’s playing a show at the Broken Spoke. You can catch him live on KUT when he joins us in Studio 1a on Tuesday at 2pm.
