Singer songwriter Alexi Murdoch was born London and raised in Greece and Scotland until he left to attend Duke University because he was enticed by the North Carolina mountains. Now he splits his time between New York and Scotland. However, his music isn’t particularly international in flavor. It’s sparse, reserved and almost holy-sounding. If you think you haven’t heard his music, it’s very likely that you’re wrong, his self-released first album was one of the most licensed of the past decade: music from the album was used in a ridiculous amount of movies and TV shows.
