Remember selling wrapping paper door-to-door to raise money for your school? That kind of salesmanship might be a thing of the past as Bedrock looks to bring school fundraising into the 21st century. The organization plans to partner area high schools with Austin’s vibrant music scene in a unique way. Participating students can sell a digital compilation of local artists–featuring such acts as Los Lonely Boys, Band of Heathens, Sahara Smith, and One Hundred Flowers–to earn prizes for themselves and much-needed funds for their schools. Texas Music Matters’ Art Levy reports why it’s got everybody–from schools to students to musicians–excited.
