I know what you’re going to say. Austin does have its share of music (and other) festivals. However, my argument has always been that having so many bands to see is a wonderful dilemma to have. And something like the Wild Frontier Fest proves this point most definitely.
Wild Frontier is still in its infancy; this is only its second year. But this DIY music festival, organized by homegrown production company The Vagabond Collective, is creating a buzz with an impressive who’s-who in local music, sharing the stage with national acts. The festival was actually created with that idea in mind – a vehicle showcasing the diverse talent coming out of Austin, while forging relationships between local and national acts.
Prepare yourself for an action-packed weekend. The Wild Frontier Fest 2011 is Saturday and Sunday, starting at 2 p.m. both days, at Emo’s, 603 Red River. Twenty-five bands, two stages, non-stop music. Leaves the head spinning. The schedule is as follows:
