10/22/10 - Ume performs at Mercury Lounge in New York City as part of CMJ 2010

Lauren and Eric Larson first started playing under the name Ume (pronounced oo-may) in 2002 in the Houston punk scene. These days the husband/wife duo make up two-thirds of the band along with drummer Rachel Fuhrer. Their debut LP Phantoms dropped on Tuesday, to an anxiously awaiting fan base. Although, historically, Austin isn’t necessarily known for it’s punk-scene, Ume have made a name for themselves as Austin’s go-to noise-rock outfit. The trio is set to play Wild Frontier Fest at Emo’s Saturday, September 10. Ume stopped by KUT’s Studio 1a for a live performance. Check it out RIGHT HERE!
