A joyous Tuesday to you all! We’re casting a heckuva pod for you fine folks today. We’ll get the party started with another edition of Master Class. Or pal John Pierson will be holding court as always, chatting with a notable member of the movie community. This time around, he’s talking to filmmaker Jay Duplass (The Puffy Chair, Cyrus, and the brand new Jeff Who Lives at Home). Jay and his brother Mark were born in New Orleans and schooled in the ways of movie making right here in Austin (by, among others, Master Class host John Pierson). Jay and John have a great conversation about making movies, and we think you’ll really enjoy taking a listen.
Hey, here’s a question for you: Who would win in a fight between Mean Joe Greene and Woody Allen? Don’t answer so fast, smart guy! What if it wasn’t a boxing match, but a psychological battle for the mind of a young boy? That’s the intriguing metaphor used by Kentucky storyteller Graham Shelby to describe his adolescent awkwardness. If you’re a fan of large men describing their own awkward adolescences, this is the piece for you!
As we often do, we’ll wrap things up with the humblest farmer we know, the Humble Farmer.
