The City of Austin has been developing a plan to significantly reduce the amount of waste Austinites produce. To achieve this by 2040, the city has been working on strategies that will accomplish that.

In this week’s “Changing Austin” segment, KUT’s Matt Largey talks trash with Bob Gedert, director of Austin Resource Recovery. Formerly known as Solid Waste Services, the department is asking for public input from Austin residents on their Integrated Austin Resource Recovery Management Master Plan to more effectively deal with the city’s trash. The plan should be online for review as early as Thursday.
