Local “stomp-folk” quartet Hello Wheels has got the last show of its September residency ready to roll at the Cactus Café this week, and what a grand time it’s been. This is the sort of roots revival that brings you to your feet – heavy on rhythms and beats while fingers fly on the strings.

The description “stomp-folk” is perfect for this high-energy group. Their music is so driven by rhythms that you find yourself stomping along to it all. Featuring Peter Shults, Matt Bradshaw, Nick Garza and John Shaw, the band weaves a dynamic chemistry with a host of harmonies.

Don’t miss Hello Wheels’s final September residency show tonight at the Cactus Café, located at 24th and Guadalupe in the Texas Union building. Doors open at 8 p.m., but get there early – these gentlemen can pack a room. (There was one incident of a Hello Wheels sold out room that inspired the band, who felt bad for people who couldn’t get in, to play some tunes just for them right outside the door. That’s how they roll.) The fabulous Shakey Graves will open the show. This one comes highly recommended.

Thank you, Hello Wheels, for bringing the magic.
