Around Town: Austin Pictures

September 27, 2011 12:21 pm by: Rebecca McInroy

This Saturday night at 8 in the new Austin City Limits Live Theater, a local treasure, the Austin Classical Guitar Society, proudly presents a unique new experience that is sure to become one more reason why we’re all so lucky to live here in Austin.

Austin Pictures is a multimedia concert featuring Austin Symphony Maestro Peter Bay, the Miró String Quartet, guitar genius Jorge Caballero, a new work by composer Joseph Williams II, a 100-member guitar orchestra, paintings by 11 distinguished young artists and a film about their work. You can meet some of the young artists behind the pictures that are at the heart of Austin Pictures in a delightful short video produced by Storyboard’s Erin Randall.

We’re also excited to bring you the following video interviews with Peter Bay, composer Joseph Williams II, the Miró String Quartet, and Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League about this artistically rich experience that’s about to debut.

KUT is excited to be one of the sponsors of Austin Pictures and you’ll see why when you dive into these videos.
