The Milk Carton Kids @ KUT 8/30/11

Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale are The Milk Carton Kids. The no-label duo’s second release, Prologue, is available for free on their website, along with their first album, Retrospect. Their policy of making their music available for free is just one of the humble ways these two are doing things differently. If you happen to catch one of their intimate shows, expect a quiet crowd, as Ryan and Pattengale don’t plug in their guitars. As sound guys around the country weep, the sound quality of their contemporary folk and sibling-like voices is just how The Milk Carton Kids want it, and Pattengale’s guitar work will blow your mind.  The Milk Carton Kids will play Lamberts Tuesday, August 30th.
