Some political watchers expect Governor Rick Perry to announce his presidential intentions as early as this week.  For KUT News and the Texas Tribune – Ben Philpott reports that now that Mr. Perry’s day-long prayer gathering in Houston is behind him, there’s time to concentrate on national ambitions.

Will Austin Public Housing Go Smoke-Free?

Starting next January, San Antonio residents living in government run apartments and homes will not be allowed to smoke inside – not even on their porch.  San Antonio will become the largest public housing authority in Texas to ban smoking.  KUT’s Erika Aguilar looks at what Austin’s public housing authority has planned.
