Get Involved-Get Inspired: Colin’s Hope

The story of Colin’s Hope began three years ago on a fateful day in June when 4-year-old Colin Holst drowned in only a few feet of water while under close supervision of adults and lifeguards. The family of Colin decided to make it their mission to never let another child drown and formed Colin’s Hope. The nonprofit creates and encourages drowning prevention programs in the Austin community. Because of their efforts, numerous potential drownings have been prevented.
Colin’s Hope is a relatively new and small nonprofit so they are constantly looking for people to help volunteer and participate in the numerous fundraisers and events it holds through out the year.
Our Get Involved – Get Inspired series takes a look at the work being done at Austin’s non-profit organizations. We hope to showcase their efforts and contributions to Austin and hope to connect you with a worthwhile cause that you’ll be inspired to Get Involved with. Our profiles will also showcase the leaders behind the scenes so you can meet the people that strengthen our community. Have an idea for an organization or individual you’d like to see featured? Send us an email @ getinvolvedaustin@gmail.com.
