It’s easy to find oneself completely disarmed by the music of Erin Ivey. Her vocals are rather captivating. There is a sweetness, a beauty, a genuine charm that isn’t forced. It’s just Erin being herself. She is that storyteller with her heart on her sleeve, as is evidenced by her second album, the multi-faceted Broken Gold. On it, you find the songwriter exploring many different avenues, even connecting seemingly disparate musical styles like folk and rap, but she’s clearly finding her own voice throughout.

You can usually catch Ivey playing with her band The Finest Kind, but this month she continues her solo residency at Frank, an intimate affair that includes performances by Ivey’s special guest performers. This week, songwriter Cheryl Kaderli will join Ivey onstage for some lovely duets, and she’ll perform some of her own material as well.

Don’t miss out – Ivey is always fantastic live. See her and Kaderli tonight at Frank, located at 4th and Colorado. Doors open at 9 p.m. Recommended.
