Volunteers helping Volunteers – July Edition

July 8, 2011 11:34 am by: Kim Cates

Last month we started a new feature called “Volunteers Helping Volunteers”. This is help-needed shout-out devoted to helping KUT Volunteers with their own events/projects.

This month’s Volunteers Helping Volunteers project is from KUT Volunteer Christine! She needs help with the 5th annual Got Guts? 5K Run, Walk and Gluten-free Food Fair this September. Below are details about this event and how you can help!

Event: Got Guts? 5K Run, Walk and Gluten-free Food Fair

Date: 9/11/2011

Time: 8am – noon

Location: Walter E. Long Park (6614 Blue Bluff Road, Austin, TX 78724)

Duties: set-up, water stops, food fair, packet pickup, registration table, cheering for participants and post-event clean-up.

Details: A huge percentage of people with Gluten Intolerance don’t know they have it. This event helps to spread the word about this condition, so that people can be diagnosed earlier and avoid medical complications. The food fair showcases great-tasting gluten-free foods so those who are newly diagnosed can be reassured they don’t have to sacrifice flavor to live gluten-free! More details at www.gotguts5k.org.

Interested? Email Christine at christine@gotguts5k.org!
