Tuesday Podcast 7/26/11
Happy Tuesday, everyone. If you’re anything like me, and I sure know I am, you’re spending all your time indoors these days, because going outside will cause you to burst into flames. As luck would have it, indoors is a excellent place to listen to things like the fine podcast we’re bringing you today. We’ve got some old friends and something new for you as well.
We’ll start things off with a visit from our old friend Jake Warga. Jake’s an O’Dark Hall-of-Famer, and he often brings us stories of haunted cabins or ghosthunting expeditions. This time, however, there aren’t any ghosts to be found. Instead, he’s taking us along for a Modern Kenya Safari, and telling us how the African safari is becoming a more ecofriendly undertaking these days.
Then we’ve got a little something new for you, albeit something new from a familiar face. Chances are, even if the name Stephen Toblowsky doesn’t quite ring a bell for you, you’ve seen him in at least a couple dozen of the 205 TV and movie credits he’s got. He was that one guy in Groundhog Day, the man in the flashback in Memento, and he’s shown up at one time or another in about half the TV shows you’ve watched in the past couple of decades. I guess our point is that the guy has been around, and you’d surely know him if you saw him. Lately, he’s decided that conquering TV and film just isn’t enough, so he’s taking on radio as well, with a show called The Tobolowsky Files. It’s a freewheeling affair, and it’s a lot of fun. We hope you dig it.
Then, we’ll wrap things up with a quick visit from the humblest farmer we personally know, the Humble Farmer.
