Shuttle Launch Marks End of Era

An era of American space exploration is coming to an end. Atlantis became the last US shuttle ever to blast off into space.

An equipment issue with 31 seconds left in the countdown stalled the launch. But the issue was cleared and Atlantis launched at 10:29 am, Central Time.
