Renowned Latin singer Perla Batalla wasn’t always at the front of the stage. In fact her first big gig was singing backup for Leonard Cohen. However Cohen quickly realized Perla’s talent and encouraged her to strike out on her own, and that is exactly what she did. Now after 6 albums and tons of accolades Perla is working on an album of songs about her summer trip to Beunos Aires to visit her mother’s family. Perla Batalla is in town for a performance at the One World Theatre but you can catch her  performance in Studio 1a for Michael Crockett on KUT RIGHT HERE!
