On this edition of In Black America, producer/host John L. Hanson Jr. speaks with Rochelle Riley, columnist, author, and CEO of Church Street Media. Riley has been voted Michigan’s Best Local columnist twice. Raising a Parent: Lessons My Daughter Taught Me While We Grew Up Together is a collection of essays about the shared adventures, both riotous and poignant, of a mother and daughter as the daughter grows from pre-schooler to teenager.

From the first time she let go of her daughter’s hand on the first day of school through her preparations for a daughter’s first dance, Rochelle offers experiences that all parents live through, love through and sometimes just survive.
