The first time we here at Storyboard came across the New York Times One in 8 Million series we were struck by the intimacy of the presentation. We love the way they take time to blend great photography with beautiful narration, to share extraordinary stories of ordinary people.

Even though Memorial Day has come and gone we tend to think every day is a good day to remember all those who have served our nation during times of war. This piece, about Iraq Veteran Maurice Decaul, offers a thoughtful and inspiring perspective on life after war.
