The Lovely Sparrows’ Summer Residency Begins Tonight at the Mohawk

I, your humble Austin Music Minute maven Laurie Gallardo, would like to contribute to your summer soundtrack: The Lovely Sparrows.
The Austin-based band is beginning a summer residency at the Mohawk, with songwriter and band founder Shawn Jones and multi-instrumentalist Lauryn Gould as the featured performers. It’s sort of a warm-up for many great things to come. The Sparrows have been hard at work on new music in the past months, in preparation for some upcoming releases. The residency is a sort of preview listening party, and a chance for Jones to flesh out arrangements or new ideas for his tracks.
The residency shows will also feature special musical guests, unique covers and…assorted variations of weirdness that come along, be they what they may. You never know.
The residency starts tonight, and continues each Monday throughout the summer, at 7 p.m. at the Mohawk, 912 Red River. Bring your friends and kick back. Highly recommended.
