The Antlers’ last album, Hospice,  has been called career-making, which put an admitted amount of pressure on the Brooklyn-based trio to put out a follow-up album that could stand on it’s own. For front man Peter Silberman, the trick was to approach the second album unscripted. Burst Apart is the band’s second album and, while less intense than the first, it has a sense of maturity that seems like the band has been around for a lot longer than they have. Back in March when The Antlers were in town for SXSW, they played the entire album (which nobody had heard, yet) front to back at NPR‘s SXSW day party at The Parish. The Antlers play Tuesday June 7th at Emos. If you miss that show, don’t worry, they will be back to play the Austin City Limits Festival on September 17 OR you can listen to their live performance in KUT’s Studio 1a RIGHT HERE!
