5. Steve Earle, I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive

Steve Earle is still holding on at number five. In this video he talks about the connection between his album and novel, and working with T-Bone Burnett. Watch it HERE.




4. Okkervil River, I Am Very Far

At #4 is Okkervil River’s I Am Very Far. Looks like they’ll be back in Texas June 28 in Lubbock, so keep that in mind if you’re listening out west.


3. Suzanna Choffel, Steady Eye, Shaky Bow

Making her debut on the Texas Top Five is Austin’s own Suzanna Choffel. Her second album Steady Eye, Shaky Bow, is her first full length since 2006 and has been getting some rave reviews.

2. Bob Schneider, A Perfect Day

Knocked back to the number two spot this week is Bob Schneider with A Perfect Day. Bob will be back in Texas later this month and into July. If you miss out on a live show, check out his live archives.



1. Sarah Jarosz, Follow Me Down

Bumping Bob out of the top spot is twenty-year-old Sarah Jarosz. She talks about the evolution of her second album and her changing sound in this video.
