I have to admit that I, your Austin Music Minute hostess with the mostess, Laurie Gallardo, did major a double take when I saw the line up for Thursday’s gig at Stubb’s. But I was delighted to see it – each of these artists are coming from different musical styles. But as disparate as these would seem to be if you stuck them in the same room, having this line-up is exactly the kind of thing that redefines what it means to be “Austin music.” It covers a wider spectrum these days, with plenty of room for everybody.

This week, we have a bill that features roots, swing, folk and a touch of country as brought to you by firecracker and fiddler extraordinaire Ruby Jane, gargantuan and gorgeous indie pop of orchestral proportions by Mother Falcon, and mega-pop dosages of synth-laden beats and melodies courtesy of SPEAK.

All three are playing Thursday night at Stubb’s, 801 Red River, on the indoor stage. Doors open at 8 p.m. Show your support for these burgeoning artists and check it all out. Recommended.
