In the mid 90’s, Carla DeSantis Black founded ROCKRGRL (“rocker-girl”)–a ground-breaking magazine for women in music based in Seattle. These days, Black’s in Austin working as an advocate for women in music. As head of M.E.O.W. (Musicians for Equal Opportunities for Women), Black is about to begin an 8-week “Rock Star Career Launch“: a workshop focusing on issues such as “The Art of the Deal”, “Attracting Professional Management”, and “Dealing with Discrimination”.
