News of The Ghost Room shutting down rattled many in the local music scene. For several Austin bands and music lovers, it seemed an ideal place to play in – not too big, not too small. The intimacy of the venue creates the perfect atmosphere. There’s just something about the ambiance of the room that really clicked with bands and audiences. Even patrons who frequented the place when it still housed The Ginger Man would comment on the vibe.

Sadly, the doors are closing on what could’ve become one of Austin’s premier little hot spots for live music. This week mark’s the final shows for the venue. Last night was their official “Bon Voyage Ghost Room Party,” but if you missed out on that, be sure to catch at least one of these shows:

Tonight – The Pons, The Asteroid Shop, and The Town Hall Devils, starting at 9:30 p.m.

Friday – The Nacional Records Listening Party, with performances by Maneja Beto and La Guerilla, starting at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday – T-Bird and The Breaks headline, with Boosy Cray and The Ghost Wolves on the bill, starting at 10 p.m.

Swing by The Ghost Room, 304 W. 4th St., and bid the crew a fond farewell. Cheers for all the great performances in such a great spot.
