Anti-Groping Bill Added to Special Session
Texas Governor Rick Perry has added a new item for lawmakers to consider during this special session. Gov. Perry is trying to revive a bill to ban intrusive airport security pat downs. A bill that would have made intrusive pat downs a criminal offense died during the regular legislative session.
Big Changes for Two Austin Middle Schools
At Monday night’s Austin Independent School District Board meeting, officials announced some major changes for a couple of struggling Eastside middle schools. The plans will affect some students at Pearce and students that were supposed to enter Garcia Middle School this fall. KUT’s Nathan Bernier has details on today’s podcast.
AISD Public Meeting for Performing Arts Center
AISD is holding a community meeting Tuesday night to discuss the future AISD Performing Arts Center. It’s going to be built at the Mueller development. AISD has already purchased the land for the facility. The community meeting starts at 6:30 p.m at Reagan High School.
