Fires in East Texas Continue to Burn

Firefighters continue to battle massive wildfires in East Texas. Hundreds of area residents have been evacuated in Trinity and Polk Counties. Crews are working to contain a 14,000-acre blaze that started on Friday. In Grimes County, a 3600-acre fire that started on Sunday has burned 30 homes. There is a heat advisory in effect for Central Texas until 7 p.m.

Horns Take on North Carolina in World Series

The UT baseball team will face off against North Carolina in an elimination game at 1 p.m. Monday as part of the College World Series. The Longhorns lost to Florida, 8-4 Saturday in the opening round of the Series.

Texas A&M will play in an elimination game against California Tuesday afternoon. The Aggies lost Sunday night 5-4 to defending national champion South Carolina.

Spaceship on Display at the Bob Bullock Museum

If you happen to be driving past the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum today and see a spaceship sitting next to the road, you’re not imagining things. A test vehicle for NASA’s Orion Deep Space Exploration Module, the vehicle that is replacing the Space Shuttle, is on display through 7:00 p.m. tonight.
