June 24, 2011 – This Week in Membership

June 24, 2011 12:17 pm by: Holly Gaete

This week has been all about Garrison Keillor. There is A Prairie Home Companion “Summer Love” tour that will be stopping in Austin on Sept. 9. Tickets are available starting today by clicking here.

On Wednesday we sent out an email to listeners informing them of the “Summer Love” tour. We use Convio for our email marketing. It is also the same company we use for the donation page on KUT.org. In Convio, we prepare the email, attach the correct mailing list and hit send. It then goes out to all of you!

We also sent out an email through the UT Institute for Organizational Excellence asking listeners how we are doing. We have received some really valuable feedback. One comment was a suggestion on how to improve on-air fundraising. Another one mentioned how much the person liked Hawk Mendenhall, and, I don’t even think the person is related to Hawk!

Kim has been working on duplicate maintenance this month. She’s spent some time merging accounts. If you ever receive two mailings from us on the same day, it is most likely because we have a duplicate account in our system for you. Sometimes when you make a gift, then we send you a renewal reminder, it is because we have two different accounts for you. One account shows the gift – but not the other one. Kim has been working to correct that problem.

Kayla has been doing purchasing work. She has been working with our accounting department on a mailing that we have sent out. It has taken up quite a bit of her time. She is also preparing an e-mail to solicit bids for a thank you gift we are going to do in the fall membership drive.

A busy week, but not the busiest we’ve ever seen!
Have a great weekend!

Holly
