GIVERS‘ long-awaited debut album, In Light, just dropped on Tuesday June 7th. The Lafayette, La. quintet has been garnering buzz over the past two years at SXSW. Finally, In Light gives fans something concrete. The album features fan-favorites ‘Up, Up, Up’ and ‘Saw You First’, re-worked to showcase the band’s youthful energy. New recordings, like ‘Ripe’ and ‘Atlantic’ feature singer/percussionist Tiffany Lamson and fit perfectly into the full-length. GIVERS’ live shows are more like a huge party, and you can tell that these kids are incredibly grateful to be doing what they love. The members switch roles and instruments with ease. Their sound has been said to draw from their Cajun roots as well as African beats. You can preview In Light in it’s entirety on NPR Music’s First Listen.
