We haven’t checked to be sure, but we’re pretty confident that today’s O’Dark podcast is the only podcast hitting the net today that features French music, hatmaking, and elephant stories. If you find another one, please let us know so we can download it immediately.
The French music portion of today’s pod will be handled by our old friend Charles Spira, who brings us the latest edition of Bonjour Chanson. If you’ve somehow missed all of our past Charles Spira broadcasts, here’s a quick Spira primer: he’s Belgian, he lives in Baltimore, he’s an expert on French music, and he’s a heckuva nice guy. That’s really all you need to know going in.
After that, feast your ears on Going Retro: The Art of Hatmaking, from producer Ali Budner. We don’t know much about Ali, but we’re going to go ahead and assume that she’s pretty nice too, because producing a public radio piece about hatmaking just seems like the kind of thing that only a nice person would take the time to do.
We’ll wrap things up with Miss Marsha Rides the Elephant from Story Salon Live, because who doesn’t enjoy a good elephant story?
