Airport Boulevard is an eclectic stretch of road, cutting across Austin from east to west. It is also ground zero for the City of Austin’s next big experiment in urban planning.
In this week’s “Changing Austin,” KUT’s Emily Donahue spoke with Larry Schooler, Austin’s Community Engagement Consultant, about the city’s latest effort to get buy-in for its “form-based codes” revitalization for Airport Boulevard.
As part of their conversation, Schooler explains why these “somewhat controversial” codes consider the look of any future development first rather than how it would be used. He also explains how the city hopes to get input from its residents. You can RSVP for the June 25th event, airportboulevard@ci.austin.tx.us
