Built By Snow Reunion Show Tonight at Red 7

I, your most humble Austin Music Minute maven Laurie Gallardo, have had so much fun with Build By Snow. Perhaps it’s because of their amazing live sets. Perhaps it’s because their digital love notes send me into an old-school Atari time warp. The massive blip-bloop beats make me dream sweet dreams of Space Invaders. (They actually do have a track called “Invaders” on their album, MEGA, although it’s not really about the game.)
The electronic indie-pop quartet went on a sort of extended hiatus…sort of. They certainly didn’t disappear under the radar. Their music’s been featured in a Google commercial and onto Cartoon Network, but they hadn’t played a show since September 2010. Their fans have missed them.
But good news awaits! Undoubtedly, new Built By Snow tunes may be on the way in the not-to-distant future, and they have a special reunion show coming up tonight at Red 7, 611 E. 7th St. Special guests will be making appearances throughout the evening, and it’s sure to be a great performance all around. Doors open at 9 p.m.
