What We’re Watching

“Once a task called for even rudimentary cognitive skill, a larger reward led to poorer performance.”

This RSA video (The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) is not only brilliantly illustrated, it also provides us with 10 minutes and 48 seconds of information that can help us to be better thinkers, managers, employees and people. It also makes up for all the two-hour movies we sit through and then walk out of, only feeling fatter and stupider as we say to ourselves, “that’s 2 hours of my life I will never get back!” Here at Storyboard we love the way Daniel Pink turns conventional thought on it’s head, while subtly shifting our concept of motivation and reward.
