What We’re Watching
Jenn Akerman and Tim Gruber are a husband and wife multimedia storytelling team based in Minnesota. As Ackerman Gruber Images they have produced award winning multimedia pieces, which are compelling and honest portraits of some of the most difficult social conflicts we face in America.
Their short film Trapped: Mental Illness in America’s Prisons won them an Emmy. It is a beautiful, albeit difficult to watch, survey of the life of the mentally ill behind bars.
