Austin singer-songwriter Wendy Colonna grew up in Louisiana and it shows in her music in a big (and good) way. Her country/folk/blues style makes for an excellent musical gumbo infused with Gulf Coast soul and just enough funk to elevate her above the standard fare. Recently, she won the Austin-American Statesman’s award for “Best Singer Songwriter,” and released her fourth studio album, We Are One, which has received positive reviews all around.
