KUT Live featuring The Flatlanders

May 2, 2011 3:13 pm by: Kim Cates

On Friday April 29th, The Flatlanders played at KUT Live to a sold-out crowd in KLRU’s original Austin City Limits studio. What a fabulous show – The Flatlanders sounded great (Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, Butch Hancock , and surprise guest Colin Gilmore oozed old-school Texas style and charisma),  the crowd was happy and excited, and KUT Volunteers worked to make it one of the smoothest-running shows we’ve ever had. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and every attendee was met and assisted by a smiling face.

Volunteer photographers Sean Murphy and Paul Woodruff and KUT staffer Robert Cross took fantastic photos of the show that you can see here on our Flikr (or in the slideshows below). Be sure to check out the shot of ushers extraordinaire Carol, Lee Ann and Tammy modeling our spiffy new Volunteer shirts!

Thank you again to the volunteers who worked so hard to make this KUT Live such a success! And thank you to Live Oak, Enchanted Rock Vodka and Tiff’s Treats for donating drinks and cookies for the audience, and Kerbey Lane and Austin’s Pizza for donating dinner for our volunteers and the band!
