Here at O’Dark Central, we love holiday-themed radio pieces, especially when they’re played in a not-at-all-timely fashion. It’s a thing we do, and in the spirit of doing that thing we do, we’ve got for you today a Mother’s Day piece, which is kind of late, and a Valentine’s Day piece, which is either pretty darn late or ridiculously early. Also, another piece that’s not about a holiday at all, so it’s right on time.
First off, it’s our non-holiday offering, Thinness and Salvation, in which producer Sarah Yahm takes a look at our society’s obsession with, and anxiety over, obesity.
Then we’ll take the wayback machine all the way back to a couple of weeks ago, with Mother’s Day Diary from the inventively odd Hans Anderson, and wrap things up with Valentine’s Day, produced by Julio Martinez for the Story Salon Live series. Enjoy!
