Education funding seems to be the final compromise needed to get a state budget to the Governor’s desk. Part of that discussion includes a stalemate on efforts to lift some education mandates, like the class size cap and minimum teacher pay.

On this week’s KUT/Texas Tribune Tribcast, Evan Smith, Ross Ramsey, Morgan Smith and Ben Philpott go over the problems with the legislation being pushed by House Education chair Rob Eissler. We also have a broader discussion on the state budget and a few minutes again on whether or not Governor Rick Perry could run for President.
