It’s about time for another one of those irresistible triple bills, and there’s one coming up in the form of Rumble Austin, the local monthly music showcase presented by The Onion A.V. Club Austin.
This time around, we have big doses of blissful, droney, dreamy music on the menu, along with a shot of psyched-up country/rock to jolt your senses. Headlining the bill is local shoegaze/Brit-pop outfit She Sir, featuring original core members Russell Karloff and Matthew Grusha on guitar and vocals. The duo now performs as a quintet with guitarist Jeremy Cantrell, keyboardist Jonathan Van Matre and percussionist David Nathan.
Also in this month’s Rumble Austin show: Massive reverb and fuzzed-up trips courtesy of psych quartet Holy Wave, and a merciless onslaught of rock, country and psych sensations channeling The Velvet Underground courtesy of six-piece band The Low Lows. You can see all of these bands play tonight at Beerland, 711 Red River. Get there around 9 p.m. You don’t want to miss this one. Recommended.
Special thanks to the Austinist, Austin Town Hall and Covert Curiosity for providing additional info.
