It started with a dream of traveling and singing songs. Ah, the good life…!

That’s what brought Austin duo Loves It! together. Songwriters Jenny Parrott and Vaughn Walters provide all the vocals and assorted instrumentation, including guitar, fiddle, mandolin and banjo. They both bring a wide range of musical influences to their collaboration -  think country, gospel, swing, punk and soul. And both are inspired by their adventures from traveling and performing with other bands – Parrott plays with Shotgun Party, and Walters has gigged with Leo Rondeau.

Loves It! just released their first album, the aptly titled Yay!, and it’s as shiny and vibrant as the name suggests. They’re making their official live debut Thursday at the Cactus Cafe, where they’ll open for Ethan Azarian. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Get there early and enjoy.
