APD Officer Shoots and Kills Armed Suspect
An man was shot and killed by an APD officer early this morning. The shooting followed an incident where the suspect fired shots into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. No one inside the apartment was injured. The officer has been put on administrative leave – that is the standard procedure after an officer-involved shooting. APD is investigating.
Where Does the ‘Sonogram Bill’ Put Texas?
Requiring women who seek an abortion to get a sonogram at least 24 hours before the procedure will soon become the law of the land in Texas. Governor Rick Perry has said he will sign into law the so called “sonogram bill,” that passed through the state legislature last week. KUT’s Mose Buchele reports where that will put Texas in comparison with other states.
Travis County Wants In On Business Incentive Deals
Travis County Officials are proposing a more collaborative effort between Austin and the County when it comes to offering incentive deals to businesses wishing to locate in Austin. KUT’s Emily Donahue spoke with Jacob Dirr of the Austin business Journal.
