Dan Dyer has been called one of the best blue-eyed soul singers in Austin. Younger audiences might tell you they’re reminded of Lenny Kravitz or Jamiroquai. More seasoned music lovers might say he’s channeling Stevie Wonder. No matter what direction you’re coming from, there’s no doubt you’ll feel it in the vocals – smooth, smoky and completely earnest.

There’s more to it than that, though. The Austin-based singer draws from a number of influences:  Blues, funk grooves, rock ‘n’ roll, 70’s R&B, gospel, even a little classic jazz and the rhythms of ragtime. It’s Texas meets Louisiana, the classic and contemporary, polished and seductive.

Dyer is wrapping up his solo residency with a performance tonight at 9 p.m. at Momo’s Club, 618 W. 6th St. Afterward, be sure not to miss Ryan DeSiato‘s performance at 10:30 p.m. Dyer’s calendar also has him scheduled for a gig tomorrow at The Continental Club, 1315 S. Congress Ave.

Phenomenal performer. Recommended.
