City Council members reacted Tuesday to a menu of proposed budget cuts from Austin City Manager Mark Ott, and there’s still time to weigh in by sending your budget suggestions to speakupaustin.org. In this week’s edition of “Changing Austin,” KUT’s Emily Donahue sits down with Austin’s Community Engagement Consultant, Larry Schooler, to see why the city wants to hear from residents these issues.

“Speakupaustin.org is becoming sort of the hub for the city’s community engagement as a whole,” Schooler said. “The budget has it’s own space on the site but the site is being used for a number of different topics.”

Schooler said because of the interactivity of the website, the budget office is going to do their best to respond to as many of the comments as possible. The comments will be combined with the comments received at city meetings to be presented to the management team.
