Republican U-S Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has decided not to run for re-election to that seat in 2012. So far, six Republicans say they will contend to be Texas’ next senator: former Solicitor General Ted Cruz; Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones; former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert; former Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams; former Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams; and Lela Pittenger. A crowded field, to say the least. But so far, no Democrats had entered the race. Until this week.
