NYC quartet the Pains of Being Pure at Heart have been gaining attention for their fuzzy, melodic indiepop sound since they released their first EP in 2007. Having just released their second album, the band has shown that they are not afraid of change. The new album marks a move towards a more rocking sound, while still retaining their fun, melodic pop style. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will play at Emo’s on Saturday night, and you can hear them when they play live in Studio 1a with host Kevin Connor.
