The Kills emerged in 2000 from a melding of great minds that think alike. Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart were previously in other bands that were leaving them completely underwhelmed. Both were in music scenes that didn’t seem to fit their true interests. They were drawn together over a mutual love of the rawness and stripped-down style of 70s London and New York punk – not to mention The Velvet Underground.
On their fourth album, Blood Pressures, the duo creates this intense combination of everything they love about punk and electronic music, delivering a good dose of aggressive, heavy-hitting guitars and beats that are rough, edgy and poppy all at once.
Check out The Kills at their show tonight at La Zona Rosa, 612 W. 4th St. The evening starts out with performances by Cold Cave and The Entrance Band. Doors open at 7 p.m. Don’t miss out on this one.
